A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO
Sgt Faith R. Hinkley
She was an Army specialist in the highly secretive field of gathering human intelligence
She was assigned to the 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash and was promoted posthumously to sergeant from specialist, according to the public affairs office at Lewis-McChord. She actually had passed the promotion board just days prior to the insurgent attack, so was technically already a Sergeant.
She received the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon, Purple Heart, Bronze Star
She was a former high school cheerleader described by her grandmother as sweet and gentle. Also a member of the champion state marching band as well as past Worthy Advisor for Rainbow Girls (as well as a state officer for Rainbow).
A 2006 graduate of Monte Vista High School, attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs for a year before she enlisted.
